Discover a growing range of ceramic vases. Each week Sam crafts a small selection of new vases, generally 5 of each design at a time. Once out of stock it can be some time before they are re-made as each vase is handcrafted on the pottery wheel.

At Sam Mayell Ceramics I utilise a range of different stonewares from New Zealand and overseas. Most vases are thrown in buff, cream, speckled and white clays from NZ. Each piece is completely unique and one of a kind.

I love exploring different shapes and ideas, sometimes I enjoy crafting more clean minimal vases, while other times I get a little whacky and go ful crazy with colour. The ceramic vases are all glazed inside so will hold water and fresh florals or dried stems.

Pricing varies based on size, shape, clay and glazes used in the creation of each ceramic vase, I try and stay competitive with other NZ brands but being a handcrafted product sometimes prices can be a little higher.

As a result, while we aim to offer our handcrafted vases at reasonable prices, it's important to note that the exclusivity and artistry involved in their production may occasionally result in slightly higher prices compared to mass-produced alternatives.
